We carry everything within us, that's where 'We Carry' in our name comes from. But when you're fleeing and expecting, carrying is extremely vulnerable. With barely enough of anything, you constantly try to make the best of it.
We Carry is a trauma-sensitive group programme for pregnant women and new mothers. This is a vulnerable group at higher risk of complications in asylum accommodation, for both mother and child. With women's mornings, we create a safe, warm space where women can relax, ask questions, share experiences, and receive support from professionals, volunteers, and each other.
We support mothers so they can support themselves and their children.
We feel that laughing, dancing and crying are vital basic needs just like sisterhood, love and development.
But truthfully, so are diapers, a banana, a warm jacket, some clean underwear and essential sanitary products.
Our fundraisers consist of collecting these high quality, clean, and often new materials on a large scale, so that no one is left behind.

Be the change you wish
to see in the world
We are holding our breath. The atmosphere is so grim towards people fleeing, with protests and hate speech. Because We Carry has long stayed away from political turmoil: we are primarily doers. But we are now choosing with full conviction to take a stand and speak out.
We talk and write a lot about humanity and equality, tell connecting stories on our socials, and spread our message across the country with our jumpers and t-shirts.
